From 1999 to 2005, inspired 'n gifted by Pete Peters (Marti's dad) inspiration, the Poet's Promise campfire gatherings highlighted our spring and summer and fall activities for those six years. City folk from all over came to join us 'n the local folk for a weekend of campin' out, pot-luck picnicking 'n evening campfire entertainment.

2006 and 2007 were absent such magical gatherings in our lives. 2008 - I'm writin'em back in - and dedicating the 2008 gatherings to Rocco Tripodi, a friend like family and big part of the success of our gatherings and our lives. He passed away October 23, 2007. Our first gathering will be the weekend of May 30 to June 1, 2008 and will be headlined by his wife, Paula Tripodi and the always popular Jerry Faires, two close friends and wonderful singers, songwriters, poets, 'n performers. We also intend to invite any other performers whojust might be attending this gathering to do a one or two song cameo or preview performance as well, sort of like a round robin campfire open mike.
The camping out and gathering will be a free community event and the Saturday night "house concert" evening campfire headliner performers will be paid from a shared donation by all of us as an admission charge of $7 adults; $5 children; and free for children under 12. This will be a suggested donation and those who can't / don't / don't have to pay, or they can pay what they can to be here. Bottom line is, as the Beatles' song goes, "All You Need Is Love". Of course we want ya to bring yer Dollar Cowboy Ante Up fer our early afternoon "High Noon Horseshoe Shoot Out" that begins our gatherings on Saturday.
At this time our evening campfire performer options are open for ou July 4th weekend and Marties and my 25th Wedding Annivesary September 5th to 7th, 2008 gatherings and we invite all performers to contact us or come to this first gathering if you are receptive and interested in being considered.
Performing or not, we invite you to our first weekend gathering fo friends like family and Saturday, May 21, 2008 Evenign Campfire. We want to recapture the fellowship, love, inspiration, creativity, and magic of our past gatherings.
Please contact us to volunteer your help with our gatherings as Marti and I are becoming more physically restricted in getting our place ready for and hosting the events.
We hope to see you this coming Spring, Summer, and Fall at the Poet's Promise. It's a promise and a dream we won't let die!
